Visit to Walmer Castle and Gardens

Come with TAS  to see Walmer Castle abd Gardens to see the Spring flowers in the beautiful gardens surrounding the castle.Originally one of        Henry VIII's chain of coastal fortresses, the castle evolved into a comfortable and fashionable home for the warden of the Cinque ports - including Pitt the younger, the Duke of Wellington, Churchill and the Queen Mother.

The Estate is now run by English Heritage who have restored large areas of the garden and there are wildlife trails to enjoy..

The cafe is open for coffee lunch and tea or you may prefer to bring a picnic.

Cost: TAS member £30  Non Member £35  Leaving Heathfield at 8. 30 am and returning approx. 6.00pm ( 18.00 hrs)
