Young Arts

Our society endorses THE ARTS SOCIETY ethos to provide children and young people with exciting opportunities to get involved in creative arts activities. Our work with young people builds a lasting enthusiasm for the arts and an awareness of arts heritage and its conservation.

In 2025 we arranged an Art Prize to Art A Level Students at Heathfield Community College.

In 2024 we sponsored a workshop with Heathfield Community College.

In 2022 we sponsored an inspirational day workshop with celebrated artist and illustrator Carne Griffths at Uplands Community College, Wadhurst. Working primarily with calligraphy inks, graphite, and liquids, such as tea, gin, brandy and vodka Carne Griffths' fascination with drawing focuses on the creation and manipulation of the drawn line. Images explore the human form, flora and abstraction.The GCSE and Year 13 students experimented with inks, tea and brandy on drawings they produced the week before and refined the accidental patterns with pen details.

In 2018 we sponsored 2 young Artists to attend a course in London to explore printing techniques.
